H&P runs training courses for historians to learn how the policy-making process works, and how to engage with policy makers and shapers. Drawing on H&P’s connections in Whitehall and civil society, delegates hear from civil servants, NGO leaders, journalists and historians with experience in government, Parliament and beyond.
Policy Impact Skills for Historians brought together historians from PhD to professor in three intensive workshops this Spring-Summer. H&P is now working with the delegates to assist with their policy and media engagement activities.
Not only have several delegates secured media coverage of their research and engaged with senior civil servants and politicians, but they have secured book contracts and grants:
