We have held regular seminars with HM Treasury, the Home Office, the Department for Transport and the Department for Education amongst others.


HM Treasury series 2, 2013-2014

This series at HMT considered the history of long-term policy issues with significant fiscal and economic implications, including the nuclear deterrent, ageing, energy and transport, as well as considering the policy-making process in the Treasury itself.

HM Treasury series 1, 2012-2013

H&P collaborated with Her Majesty's Treasury to organise a series of seminars exploring important episodes of economic crisis, impecunity and retrenchment, from the 1920s to the 1981 Budget. Historians considered the policy approaches and political decisions that were taken, exploring what worked, what failed and why.
