Witness seminar: The 1974 NHS Reorganisation

9 November 2016 - 13:30 pm - 17:00 pm

The University of Liverpool in London, 33 Finsbury Square, EC2A 1AG
The University of Liverpool are holding a witness seminar in London on the 1974 reorganisation of the NHS: the first major shake-up since its foundation in 1948, and the first to use external management consultancy through McKinsey & Co. The event brings together representatives of the medical profession, civil service, government and the private sector, to discuss how the reorganisation was planned, implemented and its impact. As the NHS faces uncertain times, what lessons can we learn from this first attempt at improving efficiency and effectiveness?

A number of audience spaces will be available. To apply, or for more information please contact: p.begley@liverpool.ac.uk or call 0151 794 5581.

The witness seminar forms part of the Wellcome Trust funded Governance of Health project at the University of Liverpool.
