History & Policy is delighted to announce that H&P Director, Dr. Andrew Blick, will be joining a set of distinguished speakers as part of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy’s 2016 “History and Policy Making” course.

Arguing that questions of international peace and security are deeply rooted in the past, the GCSP course provides its participants with tools for a better use of historical awareness in shaping the future. History has a remarkable potential to give decision-makers a sense of perspective, an appreciation of past patterns and the wisdom to implement more effective policies in managing complexity. The GCSP course brings together academic experts and experienced practitioners to co-create new approaches to improve this interaction between historical knowledge and present-day policy making.

The three day course will run from 31st May – 2nd June 2016 at the GCSP, in the Maison de la paix in Geneva, Switzerland. Places cost CHF 1250, alumni discounts of 20% and scholarships are available.

More information about the course can be found at the GCSP website: http://www.gcsp.ch/Courses/History-and-Policy-Making
