    History & Policy Event

A divided democracy? Everyday politics, citizenship and social change in Britain since 1918

Small Committee Room, King's College London, Strand, London WC2R 2LS

Political disengagement, a lack of respect for governing institutions, and a gulf between elite and popular understandings of key political issues - are these uniquely modern issues? Often our assumptions about greater political engagement and awareness in the past are inaccurate or unfounded.

Professor Adrian Bingham and Dr Tim Dowling will present research drawing on unpublished material from the Conservative Party and Labour Party archives, historical polling data, social science surveys, and life writing, in this session suitable for politicians, party activists, pollsters, campaign groups and journalists.

4 months, 2 days, 4 hours, 7 minutes until this event starts!
